U.C.E. was founded in 2011 as a non-profit mission organization ministering in Uganda, South Sudan, and Congo. Most of our work in centered in Northern Uganda among the Madi’ people.

In 2009, Penne Paris, wife of Dr. Floyd Paris and mother of Philip and Julie Paris died unexpectantly. There was a love offering given in her memory. The Paris family decided to give the money to missions. In 2010, Dr. Paris and his children traveled to Uganda looking for mission opportunities. While traveling all over Uganda they came to the forgotten region of West Nile.

The hospital conditions were greatly impoverished. Children were dying from the lack of medicine and medical care. The hospital pharmacy was not adequately supplied with even the basic medicines. Julie asked her father if part of the money could go to help ease the suffering of the children by supplying medicines. It was discussed and agreed to help supply medicine to the hospital.

As they continued to travel around the Moyo District in West Nile, Philip noticed that there were not many schools in the villages where students could learn English (the educated language of Uganda). He asked if part of the money could help to start schools.   It was discussed and agreed upon.

The first Christian school was started in Laropi and named The Penne Paris Nursery School. (Achua a Penni means praise the Lord in Madi’)
